Jon Groot, 3rd Dan

Jon began studying karate with Sensei Jepperson in 1993 at the age of 12. He was awarded his first degree (Shodan) black belt in 1997, and his second degree (Nidan) black belt in 2001 from Sensei Tatsuo Suzuki,  the most senior Wado instructor in the world.

Jon has competed in numerous tournaments on both the national and international level. IIn 2005 Jon graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor degree in Education, and a minor in Exercise and Sports Science. He is trained and certified as an EMT in the state of Utah, and spent two years teaching Emergency First Aid labs at the U of U. Jon is currently working on a Masters of Exercise Physiology.
