Instructors: Tony Jepperson

Tony Jepperson, 3rd Dan

Tony Jepperson has been studying Wado Ryu Karate most of his life. Having started when he was only 8 years old, Tony achieved his black belt at the age of 12 years. After this Tony went on to win many karate tournaments over the years. From local championships to international competition Tony has always been one of the top competitors from our dojo. Some highlights include: competing in the Pan American Karate Championships in Curacao, Dutch Antilles. Tony won the the Grand Championships Wado Ryu Invitational in California. Tony was featured in Karate Illustrated after winning the Los Angeles Wado Ryu Invitational.

In 1997 Tony performed well in the World Championships in Orlando Florida, fighting his way to the quarter finals and finally losing to the European Champion who won the entire tournament.

After taking more than five years off from competitive Karate, Tony won the Bronze Medal in the Heavyweight Black Belt divison at the 2007 Ozawa Cup held each year in Las Vegas, NV. This is one of the most prestigious karate tournaments in the world.

Tony is a third degree black belt and works with adults and children in the Park City Karate Club.

Tony has a degree in History at the University of Utah and speaks Spanish fluently.
