"It is not the techniques
you practice...
It is the mind you train,
using the techniques
you practice.

Why learn Karate?

For Self-Defense
Although we teach that it is better to avoid trouble if possible, traditional Karate teaches centuries old principles and strategies of self-defense that are known around the world.

As A Family Activity
Karate can be enjoyed by the whole family and is a great way to stay in shape for the rest of your life! Many principles taught also relate to every day life. As a family you can discuss honesty, integrity, respect, and perseverance. Our helpful and patient instructors make learning Karate easy, safe, and fun!

Benefits
Karate is great for teaching self-discipline to children. We teach our students to be responsible for belongings, class requirements, and their actions.
The belt system helps students develop self-confidence and self-esteem. The confidence gained in Karate will transcend to all areas of life and help you become a new and better person.

Karate is the ultimate fitness program. The training provides a full workout: stretching, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, strength, and coordination.

Many professionals say that what they like best about our program is that it relieves stress. Once you enter the dojo you can leave everything else behind and concentrate on Karate. The total training of the mind, body, and spirit is why more and more adults are attracted to Karate.

What is Wado Ryu Karate?
Wado Ryu is a traditional style of Japanese Karate called Wado Ryu. “WA” means harmony or balance and “DO” means way or road in Japanese.

By traditional we mean that we are teaching karate the same way it has been taught in Japan for many years. We also teach the etiquette and formalities that are found in traditional styles.
